Catholic Schools Week: Sunday 29th January marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week 2012. The purpose of the week is to highlight and celebrate the wonderful contribution that Catholic schools make to our local communities and society in general. This year's theme is Catholic Schodls: Christ's Living Body Active in our World. Our parish is joining in the celebrations by our school's Liturgies in which Christ gathers us to hear, to be nourished and to be formed into community by God's word. The wider community are invited to attend the schools celebrations

To mark the Eucharistic Congress, we are compiling a collage of all the townlands in the Parish of Cloone. Part of this will be getting a photograph of each townland and also one of the people living in it. You can help by giving a Family Photograph to the Pastoral Council

Save our Small Schools:   At the recent Ballinamore Branch INTO meeting, members felt that it is important to highlight the discriminatory changes that were stealthily imposed in the recent budget including further erosion of school bus transport, change in pupil teacher ratio, withdrawal of financial support to sfchools, withdrawal of educational supports within schools and threatened closure of local schools. Rural Ireland is under threat. A public meeting will be held in the Commercial Hotel, Ballinamore tomorrow night Monday 30th January at 8 pm. Invited speakers will further elaborate on the seriousness of these implications. Mohill Branch INTO support their Ballinamore Colleagues in this regard and ask parents from Mohill, Cloone, Aughavas, Bornacoola, Gortletteragh and Annaduff to attend this meeting.
